Stirling Walking The Marches 2026

Hello to all Clan Members, Followers and Friends,

Sharing with you this post regarding the ancient tradition of The Walking of the Marches in Stirling.

Stirling, walking the marches 2026 with Clan Irving

The Chief will be attending to represent the Clan at both of these events.  It’s interesting to note that in Stirling they walk the boundaries, whereas elsewhere across the Scottish Borders such as Annan, they ride the boundaries on horseback while still maintaining the ceremonial status of checking the boundaries.

In Stirling there is the traditional turning of the turf to signify that the boundaries have indeed been checked and found intact.

Why not come along and support the celebration on the 23rd and the 30th of May.

Cheer on the participants and marvel at the flags and banners on display and the ceremony itself is not to be missed!
